The Allegrini family has released the following statement to announce their plans for the generational transition that is taking place.

Silvia Allegrini (Walter’s daughter) and Franco’s sons - Francesco, Giovanni and Matteo - have purchased Marilisa’s shares in Allegrini and Corte Giara, while Marilisa and her daughters will be the sole owners of Poggio Al Tesoro and San Polo in Tuscany and of Villa Della Torre in Fumane.

The reorganisation of the ownership does not mean any change for Liberty Wines. The new ownership will bring even greater focus to each of the estates. Franco’s sons will devote all their energies to Allegrini and Corte Giara, while Marilisa’s efforts will be directed to Poggio Al Tesoro and San Polo.

Official statement:

The Allegrini family has signed an initial agreement that will ultimately lead to the division of key assets, the first step in a major move to restructure the ownership and management of the company with the aim of continuing to develop its entrepreneurial activities in the wine sector.

Francesco, Giovanni and Matteo Allegrini, heirs of Franco Allegrini, will acquire the majority shareholding Allegrini and Corte Giara companies, based in Verona and rooted in Valpolicella. They will manage these companies together with Silvia, heir to Walter Allegrini. Meanwhile, “Cav. Lav.” Marilisa Allegrini Carlotta and Caterina will retain ownership of the Tuscan wineries, Poggio Al Tesoro in Bolgheri and San Polo in Montalcino, as well as Villa Della Torre in Fumane, Valpolicella.
