Alpha Zeta Chardonnay named ‘White Wine of the Year’ by NOffLA

The Alpha Zeta ‘C’ Chardonnay 2012 scooped the coveted ‘White Wine of the Year’ award last night as the National Off-Licence Association (NOffLA) unveiled their Gold Star 2013-2014 Wine Collection at the annual SIP Drinks Show at ely bar & brasserie.

The judges commented: “This wine was made from 100% Chardonnay, half of which was fermented in oak giving it lovely depth and complexity. Creamy peach aromas lead to a finely-structured wine that is fresh yet has a lovely underlying richness.”

They added: “Lovely mouth-filling fresh apple fruit. Crisp and lively.  It is an exceptionally well made wine. Excellent quality at this price point!”

Now in its 12th year, the NOffLA Gold Star Wine Collection is the essential guide to some of the very best wines available in Ireland.  Selected by an expert tasting panel and priced to appeal to all budgets, the 15 Gold Star winning wines will be clearly identifiable on the shelves of NOffLA’s 315 independent off-licences.  For further details, please visit the NOffLA website.
