Background

This property was purchased by Marilisa Allegrini in 2006. Marilisa has continued to invest heavily in the estate, and this investment is now evident in the ever-increasing quality of the wines. Situated in the eastern part of Montalcino, this estate covers 22 hectares of which 16 are under vine, and produces wines that are classic in style, but with a bit more weight than would be found to the north of the zone..

Inspiration

My inspirational wine

There are two wines which have inspired me: Ornellaia from Tenuta dell'Ornellaia and Sauvignon St Valentine from Cantina Produttori di San Michele Appiano. Both demonstrate great class and elegance, with structure and weight without being too heavy or overbearing. One of the elements I love about these wines is their consistency over time. The character of the vintage is always apparent, but doesn't affect the quality of the wines which is always extremely high. Nicola Biasi.
