"Subtlety, structure and perfume"... Greywacke's 2019 Sauvignon Blanc has landed!

It's here! The latest 2019 release of the Greywacke Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has now arrived into stock.

Winemaker Kevin Judd says "not only was 2019 spot-on from the point of view of the excellent, very dry season and the modest yields, but also the wine has all the hallmarks that we have been aiming for with the gradual development of the Greywacke style - subtlety, structure and perfume.

"This is a delicately perfumed and deliciously ripe-fruited interpretation of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Imagine yellow-fleshed peaches, rock melon and blackcurrant - a sponge cake with lemon icing, chamomile and hints of rose petal. The palate is both subtle and textural, showing considerable ripeness and concentration, with a crisp and long, juicy finish."

The 2019 is the first vintage of Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc to carry the Appellation Marlborough Wine (AMW) stamp on its label. The AMW initiative was launched by a group of top producers in June 2018 to 'protect the integrity, authenticity and brand value of wines produced in Marlborough', safeguarding the region’s reputation for premium wines via certification, with an initial focus on Sauvignon Blanc.

There are now 49 AMW members, including founding member Tinpot Hut, Greywacke, Blank Canvas and Framingham. The following wines are currently AMW certified and producers will be using the mark on all future vintages:

Blank Canvas Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2018
Framingham F-Series Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2018
Framingham Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2018/2019
Greywacke Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2019
