The judges commented: “They don’t stand still…Liberty continue to blaze a trail and have done an amazing job over what can only be described as the most difficult of circumstances, a huge team effort, well done!”

It was also a night of celebration for Cyril Brun of Charles Heidsieck, who was named IWC Sparkling Winemaker of the Year – the 17th time that the Champagne house has claimed this title and the second time for Cyril since taking over as chef de cave in 2015.

We are also delighted to see this year’s Daniel Thibault Trophy for IWC Champion Sparkling Wine (Daniel was the chef de cave at Charles Heidsieck until his untimely death in 2002) awarded to the Rare Champagne Millésime 2008. Capezzana’s Vin Santo di Carmignano Riserva won the Alois Kracher Trophy for IWC Champion Sweet Wine for an impressive fourth time – this time with the 2014 vintage – and the Trinity Hill Gimblett Gravels Chardonnay 2020 scooped the IWC Champion White Wine Trophy.

We are enormously proud of these results and, following our wins at the IWSC and The Drinks Business Awards in recent months, are delighted to continue our 20th anniversary year with a record of success. A huge thank you to our customers for all your support, to our world-class wine producers, and to our team for all your hard work.
